Stacy Ponders Her Response

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 11972

Stacy's mind whirled rapidly. Something strange was obviously going on here, and it seemed that she'd become mixed up in it, whether she liked it or not. But how to approach this situation? On the one hand, she didn't like this woman's attitude, her assumption that she had the right to ask Stacy questions. And getting involved with the FBI could potentially be awkward, to say the least. On the other hand, presumably there was a legitimate problem here that the FBI was trying to deal with, and it might be best if Stacy cooperated and did her best to help. And, who knew, maybe the FBI knew something about Dr. Arden's research that might be of help to her. After a moment's pause to contemplate all this, she finally responded:

  1. "I don't see that that's any of your business."
  2. "I don't think I want to answer any more questions until you've explained just what's going on."
  3. "I'm investigating some side-effects from an experiemental life-prolongation drug."
  4. "I..." But Dr. Smith interrupted her before she could say anything more.
