The Never Ending Quest - Episode 119109

Poor Fred was becoming very frayed. The experience of being such a helpless, unintelligent, alien creature was always horrible, but the alternative was sitting back and accepting the lie these people were trying to force onto her! This she could not suffer.

Her struggle went on for quite some time. It came about that she had been in the tower for over a year, and was by now at least sixteen. The thought that she'd been trapped unjustly for so long and there was still no sign of help drove her to even greater and more frequent acts of rebellion and violence.

  1. At last the wizards were forced to use drastic measures: they cast a spell that would cause her to turn into a slug every time she started to become angry.
  2. At last the wizards decided that she was beyond reasonable help, and turned her into a slug permanently to live in their garden.
  3. One day, while a wizard was halfway through turning her into a slug, the dragon attacked the tower, destroying it and killing many of its inhabitants. Fred survived, now as a sort of... slug-taur.
