Fred had not seen anything even slightly humanoid for years now, and the sight left her reeling! They appeared as beautiful, slender women with long green hair and pale blue skin and huge eyes the color of moss, clad in scanty attire made of weeds that grew at the bottom of the pond, laughing and playing together in its depths. They paid Fred no mind, leading her to think it was common for toads to venture to the center. In fact she had only been here for a matter of days - precisely how many, she didn't know and didn't really need to - so it was still possible that they ventured to its edges not infrequently. For Fred, the biggest takeaway was that they were magical beings, and perhaps she could hope they had some ability to sense something different about Fred. But for a long moment she simply floated there, watching them in wonder. They were truly beautiful to look at - she could do so all day and be quite content. Eventually, one did notice her, and swam over, smiling. Fred instinctively and quite involuntarily began to swim away at the approach of something much larger than herself, but the nymph was supernaturally quick and nimble, and easily caught Fred in her hands. She cooed over her in a language Fred did not understand, and the saddest part was that Fred doubted for a moment what the situation was - perhaps she was speaking their native fey language, but what if Fred had simply lost the ability to understand language at all? Either way, she remained in the nymph's graceful hands, and when she was released, she kicked her legs but a little to right herself, remaining among them, hoping they would notice something - hoping they could help her.
