The waitress put down her tray, and then took the keys once more and freed Astra's right hand.

With lightning speed, Astra snatched the keys from the servitor's grasp and, before the startled woman had a chance to react, elbowed her hard in the solar plexus. She was winded, and would be out of action for anything up to a minute.

Fred was highly impressed, especially as by rights Astra should surely have been stiff from having been kept chained in one position.

Astra quickly unlocked her other wrist.

1. But then the woman with the knife was on her. Without a weapon and with her legs still chained, could Astra prevail? And she would need to do so before the first woman could recover.
2. The woman with the knife panicked, and threw it at Astra. It missed, and ricocheted off the wall to land by Astra's feet. It was close enough for her to bend down and pick it up with her left hand (as her right still held the keys). Now she had a chance.
3. The woman with the knife panicked, and threw it at Astra. It hit her.
