smoking carries a sentence of five years imprisonment." As Stacy's eyes
adjusted to
the gloom, she saw that there was a long bar-counter on the far side of
the room. The
rest of the room was taken up with tables, most of them surrounded by
small groups
of people who only paused from smoking when they took a swig from the
glass in front
of them. Through the thick haze of cigarette smoke she managed to spot the
two Bettys and Melissa sitting
at one of the tables. With them was a rather overweight middle-aged man.
