Will The Sisters Be Believed?

"I beg your pardon?" Mira said, understandably confused by Isabella's incoherent outburst.

"She means that we're your brother," Hannah said, leaving Mira more confused than ever. Were the princesses mentally ill?

Between them, eventually the five princesses managed to tell Mira the story of what had happened to them in a reasonably comprehensible form, and to recount some memories of things that only the real Fred could have known. When they had finished, Mira said:

1. "Ah yes, Princess Jane told me that the five of you had cooked up a strange fantasy along these lines, and not to be alarmed by it. But how did you know those things about my brother, I wonder? Have you met him, perhaps?"
2. "I believe you. That's terrible." (Jane hadn't bothered to learn Fred's history or family name, and so had been unaware that Mira was his sister, or she would never have been invited to the ball.)
