"My princesses," said Mira, curtsying deeply. "It is an honor to be given the opportunity to represent the D'Honaire family here and to meet you all." All five princesses were staring openly at her, trying to think of what to say. It was so difficult to focus, though, to recall specifics, to decide on the best way to signal that they were Fred, or to decide if that was even a good idea. She looked up, and noticed the staring, and clearly was put off by it. Marigold quickly cut in, though, saying, "And it is an honor to welcome you here. All the way from Allaria, yes? How far was the journey?" "Some weeks, princess," said Mira. "Twenty-three days, to be exact." They all sagged. They were so far from home! "You look beautiful, my princesses," offered Mira. "We have heard tales of your beauty even in Allaria." This was deeply troubling to hear, as their dear sister now recalled them in two different forms, one of them false. "Thank you," said Marigold. "Do tell us about the D'Honaire family." "Oh, well, my father is Lord Frederick and my mother Lady Meredith," said Mira. "They are known for being wise and kind but tough as well, and the stories are all true. My older brother Frederigo is my only sibling. He is one of the bravest knights in Allaria. He was sent on a quest to slay the dragon some months ago, and I have not heard from him since. I quite miss him." Hannah was weeping now, and when Mira raised an eyebrow, she managed, "That's just so sad!" "I thank you for your sympathy, but do not worry, princess, for I know my brother will succeed in his quest and come home safe and sound," Mira said, smiling.
