It always took at least several months to get an audience with the high council; they were, of course, extremely busy. Belboz could only wait apprehensively in the meantime, doing his own research in the hopes he'd find some method or spell that would help find Fred. Naturally, he found nothing. Meanwhile, at this time, Hannendine was twelve years old, and Theo thirteen. They were beginning to become very tender with one another. Arius visited the castle frequently, and had met the royal family on multiple occasions. They seemed to like him well enough, and certainly approved of the highly precocious and patriotic Hannendine, who inspired Theo to want to be a great ruler someday. They were beginning preparations for Theo's fourteenth birthday party by the time the high council got back to Belboz with a date they could hear him. And finally, two months later, he got the opportunity to describe the situation to them. The injustice done to the knight as well as the missed opportunity to perform the spell to protect Allaria were both areas of concern, but naturally the latter was much more so. And so, only a very small team was assigned to Fred's case--a novice sorcerer named Elarum, and his more experienced partner, Julietta. They began by going to visit Arahim, the court mage of King Embron and Queen Jastina of Allaria, who would have known Fred personally and would be able to answer some more questions. As it happened, they came in the middle of cleanup after the prince's birthday party.
