Everything was smooth and simple for Elarum and Julietta. They received a variety of helpful documents, both magical and mundane, as well as magical, physical, and psychological profiles of Fred, and the vague physical description of the little girl which had been given by Belboz, and went on their way from there. But much was happening that they did not realize, for Arius had overheard part of the conversation, as well as Hannendine and Theo. Arius's reaction was initially one of great alarm, but as he thought through his options, he began to see that there might be a way out, if he was very careful. He already went by a pseudonym at the castle, so as long as Belboz did not see him--which shouldn't be difficult, because he visited infrequently--there should be no problem there. And he'd moved as well, so even if they went to his old home--which they likely would--they would not find him. He would have to change Hannendine's appearance and magical aura, though. In the former case, just enough to offset any possible connections being made. He gave her a new hairsytle--straight and short, with prominent bangs--and began the process of gradually tanning her skin via magic. Hannendine, for her part, having heard what she had, felt inexplicably deeply sad for the lost knight. But when she asked her papa about it as he was doing her hair, he only said, "I've no idea, Hannen. It must have been a different Arius." She decided she had to take some action, though.
