In addition to the token that would restore Fred's mind, Gavin carried a charm that had led him straight to this location, and even now was assuring him that the beautiful mute girl in the tiny cottage mere feet away from him was in fact Sir Frederigo D'Honaire of Allaria, who had disappeared many years before. The mage had warned him that Fred may be under multiple heavy enchantments, and he'd tried to prepare himself for anything, but this was... much stranger than he'd expected. He eyed the stew the girl was making, knowing there was a good chance that there was something magically amiss with it. He did not want to eat that stew. "Please, don't trouble yourself," he tried. "I have provisions of my own. I only need some directions." The young woman waved her hand dismissively, and continued to stir. Gavin reached into his pocket and fingered the token that would bring Fred back: a golden coin. He didn't see a need to withdraw it; if he remained here, it ought to work at this distance. But he had been told that it would take a few hours of exposure to set in. He greatly feared that he would have to eat the offered stew.
