Naturally Belboz had ensured that Fred would be unable to explain to Henry why her pregnancy, which had been developing normally over the first seven months, did not seem to have advanced any further over the last two months or so. Henry became sufficiently concerned that, once the birth was a week overdue, he insisted on taking her to see the local witch doctor.
