The Never Ending Quest - Episode 109105

As they drew nearer, the women could make out a lone figure. They were fairly wary after the encounter with the crone, but the figure, whoever it was, looked rather nonthreatening, and they needed to get closer to read the signs, so they made the silent (and perhaps foolish) decision to risk it.

Soon enough they came close enough to both read the signs and see that the figure was in fact a wrinkled old man who would have appeared completely harmless were it not for the clear intensity of his eyes. They, however, were not the most perceptive, and didn't even notice his eyes, so on seeing how frail he looked, they automatically relaxed, just a touch.

What they did not realize was that this was Doctor Preeminencius Emeritus Vincenzio Haroldan Maude Van Damme Uber Priceless, and they had in fact met before. Perhaps some dim memory of this encounter leaking through the powerful enchantments on Lord Fred and Princess Astra were part of the reason for their otherwise foolish sense of security.

Regardless, they had no appreciable memory of him, and did not come close to recognizing him. As for Dr. Vincent himself, when his eyes fell on the two bawdy women, he exclaimed,

  1. "Who are you lovely ladies? What are you doing out here in the middle of nowhere? And wearing only that--you'll catch your death of cold."
  2. "By Merlin's hat--Fred, Astra, what happened to you two? I tracked you to this location, and I sensed the magic surrounding you, but this is, to say the least, unexpected."
  3. "Ho there, fair maids! Have you seen anything strange around, by any chance? Like a few out-of-place statues, or a knight and princess wandering about?"
  4. "Hello! Could you help me? I'm afraid I'm rather lost."
