Nobody's Home?

Astra thought of a piece of nonsense that she had learned as a girl.

The sun was shining on the sea
Shining with all his might
And this was odd, because
it was the middle of the night.

She had long forgotten it - but the fact that there was light on the pond in a place where there should be no sunlight at all brought it back to mind. But it was getting darker now, and the farm house looked inviting. If it was going to get dark, maybe someone would give her a place to stay for the night.

She knocked on the door. Nobody answered, but the door was not latched, and opened as she knocked. Astra gently pushed it open. There did not appear to be anyone around. She called out, "Is anyone here?"

The silence continued.

Astra had a dilemma. She did not want to get caught in the dark, if the light completely disappeared, but she would have a hard time explaining why she was trespassing if the owners suddenly showed.

1. She went into the farm house.
2. She went elsewhere.
