"Connar," Diana says one morning about a week into being a wife, "are you happy here?" "I would be if you'd shut up." "Did I say something wrong?" she asks worriedly. "Well, yeah, but everything you say is wrong. You should just not talk." A moment of silence; then, hopefully: "Would you love me more if I didn't speak?" "Yes," he says after a moment. "Yes I would," So Diana resolves never to speak again. Connar treats her a bit better now, but he doesn't talk to her much. She doesn't mind. Just basking in his beauty and loveliness is enough to make her content. Then one day she just can't keep it in anymore. She's watching his face as he falls asleep, and it just comes out: "I love you more than anything." He jerks awake, and groans. "Diana, I really did like you better when you weren't talking." Diana wonders if she should seek a more concrete solution for this...
