"A curse," Jahal says uncertainly. "What kind of curse?" The man places a hand on Marina's forehead, and she closes her eyes, feeling somehow relaxed. He removes it after several seconds and says, "It's been in place for a long time, but it doesn't seem too difficult to untangle." "Who would put a curse on a dog?" Prina asks. "I have no idea. Before the curse, she wasn't a dog." Realization shows in both their faces. "We have to help her," Jahal says. "Certainly we will. Now, we have a lot of the ingredients to make a potion to undo this sort of thing, but we don't have everything..." The man begins to write a list. "Thankfully you won't have to return to that forest to get everything we need. You two retrieve these items, and I'll start mixing what we already have."
