Stacy Acquires a Native Guide

"Um, no," replied Stacy, feeling vaguely bad about lying to this polite stranger (android or not). "No problem. It's just that we were, uh, late for an appointment..."

He gave her an unreadable (but still quite polite) look, and continued to guide her down the broad passageway. Stacy noticed that the other pedestrians tended, in a rather subtle way, to avoid him. She wondered if it had to do with his apparent artificiality, or just his air of calm authority.

1. They arrived before a doorway. "I believe that your friends entered this establishment," he said.
2. Suddenly, Stacy caught a glimpse of the Doctor and company in the crowd ahead.
3. The android suddenly put a hand on Stacy's arm, holding her back. He was staring at something ahead. "I'm sorry, miss. There appears to be some trouble up ahead. It could be dangerous to proceed."
