Zendar's Motive

"He periodically drains some of our life force to keep himself forever young," the girl says. "Not enough to kill us, though we feel weak for some days after each draining. But I now realise that I have been discourteous, as I asked you for your name without giving my own in return. I am Lady Andrea Croix."

Fred recognises the name. She is the daughter of a minor Allarian noble, and had mysteriously gone missing about a year ago. She would be sixteen years old by now.

Fred briefly bows his head in acknowledgement. "My lady," he says. "So where will I find this Zendar?"

1. "All you have to do is wait here. Before long he and his servant will come with our rations."
2. "Just take the tunnel on the far side of the cave and it will lead you straight to his quarters."
3. "Um, I'm afraid I don't know."
