Dark and Stormy Knights

The knights took Anna and James far off the path. They stopped in a forbidding and rocky valley. In the valley was a camp that had been set up. There were many other knights in the camp, all attired like the ones who had captured Anna. In the center, sitting on a throne that was being carried by four of the strongest of the knights, was a knight in armor that was exactly like that worn by the others, except the devices were gold rather than red. She guessed that he must be the leader.< p>One of the knights that had captured them stepped up to the throne and bowed. "My Lord," he said, "we have found these two passing our way. Are they the ones you seek?"

The leader was silent. He seemed to be pondering. Eventually, he answered. "No! Any fool can tell that these two are not our quarry. The ones we really seek could easily have passed by the place where you were stationed when you brought her here. Now return to your post at once."

Humbled, the knights left the camp and returned to the place.

Another knight approached the leader. "What shall we do with these two?"

The leader said...

1. "Kill them. No one must know of us."
2. "Cast a spell that will remove their memories."
3. "Let them live. I have plans for these two..."
