Fred cleared his throat and tried to keep a stiff upper lip, mustering up as much pomp and circumstance as he could. “Uh...I say, old chap.”

The Dragon looked at him expectantly. “You say what?”

“Er, I say....old....chap...”

“Hmmm!?”

“Care for a spot of tea? Tally ho?”

Now the great beast just looked outright confused.

Fred was starting to sweat profusely. “Uh....blimey...”

“Are you quite alright?”

“From one good Englishman to another, no,” Fred replied, his voice shaky and accent forced. “No I’m not. What with all the heroin addicts in Glasgow and beatles in Liverpool.....uh, bloody hell.”

“What?”

“Elementary, my dear Watson.”

“My name’s not Watson...”

Fred attempted to change the subject. “I sure do like the metric system, don’t you?”

  1. Fred's ploy working! "Do I ever!" it enthusiatically agreed. "Now if only those silly Americans would follow suit..."
  2. Fred's ploy was a lamentable failure. The Dragon hadn't seen such a terrible performance since what's-his-face had played the chimney sweep in Marry Poppins...
