Fred flinches.

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 40783

Fred paused and surveyed the scene. This dragon was hundreds of storeys high and all Fred had was a sword. And not a very good sword either. In fact it was a hand me down from his brother.
Vellus looked at Fred curiously with his head on his side. Fred smiled a forced grin.
"Well you know," stammered Fred a little embarrased "Uh, I mean how do we know this is the same dragon that's terrorising the town?" Fred smiled again. "I mean surely this dragon needs a fair trial, before I go out and kill it,"
"What are you talking about!" cried Vellus "Why do you think I brought you here!?"
"You can talk?" said Fred
"Of course I can,"
"Well, why didn't you talk before?" said the confused Fred
"I'm saving my voice," said Vellus "I'm performing in a Broadway musical this afternoon,"
"Well that'll do it," said Fred "So how about we go home now?"
"What!?" snapped Vellus "I can only turn back into a human when the dragon dies,"
Fred scratched his chin. "Well I'm sure Broadway will pay the big bucks for a singing dog,"
"You son of a-" cried Vellus as he pounced on Fred's ankle.
"Oh my god!" yelled Fred as he dropped the sword "Get off! Bad sub human!"
"You don't think much of the element of surprise, do you?" said a crisp English accent.
"Who said that!?" demanded Fred still with Vellus on his ankle
"The hundred storey high dragon," said the dragon with a crumpled smile
"You can talk too?" asked Fred
"Oh god," said the dragon rolling his eyes "You can believe I turn humans into animals but you can't quite grasp me talking,"
"Oh" said Fred who then yelled "Jesus! The dragon's awake!" he turned to the dog on his ankle "Sick boy, sick!"

  1. Fred runs out with Vellus still on his ankle
  2. Fred kicks Vellus at the dragon
  3. Appeal to dragon's charasmatic sense of Englishness
