Explanations to her parents....

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 13085

"You know why I must," she saids softly. "I may not share my book counterpart's believe in the wolves but I do think of the Descendants as my own."

This is a direct excerpt from a character sketch of Timmain at the website, www.elfquest.com. The character, as stated before, and related material is copyrighted to Warp Graphics.

Timmain is a High One and the progenitor of the Wolfriders. When the elves "force landed" on Abode, she became provider, protector, and leader. Only Timmain mastered the art of tapping into the forces native to Abode, working to "sing into wholeness the crippled powers of her brethren." Timmain embraced nature's many forms, and shapechanged into many of the plants and animals of their new world. When world and weather grew harsher still, she sought aid from those who first taught her to hunt - the wolves.

Though it is hinted that Timmain may have Recognized Aerth and borne him an unnamed daughter, it is her son, Timmorn Yellow-Eyes, who was the child of change. Fathered by a true wolf, thus infusing wolf blood into the elfin line that would create the Wolfriders, Timmorn was brought as a young cub to his mother's people, after which Timmain disappeared, not to be seen again until her descendants found and recovered the Palace.

Timmain considered both the wolves and the elves to be her children. Her fate now seems very much wrapped up in her progeny, most especially Skywise. There is speculation that the two are destined to Recognize.

Now, as previously stated, Ti'mma is not the same elf she had been before Rayek's stupidity resulted in the utter destruction of her universe. She was now a combination of her "old" self and something rather new. She still has the wisdom and knowledge garnered from her centuries of life before the tragic events unleashed upon her by Rayek but now her tenure as a child had changed her. She now had the youth and impulses of a child running around within her....and the fey heart of a Terran Elf (something of a much different nature than what she'd been used to as a High One). With that in mind, a mere ten eight years made quiet a difference in her life. During those years, her parents had instilled in her a courage and mental/emotional endurance that...if it had been present back in that other universe during a critical moment.....she'd have been able to have prevented Rayek from running amok!

See, in the original she had witnessed Rayek's actions against the elfin tribe called the Go-Backs for failing to have protect his mentor from capture from a band of trolls. Instead of stopping Rayek in his magical attacks, she instead had retreated to the forgetfulness of the wolf form she'd shed only a few years ago....and had run off. She couldn't stand to see elf attack elf, so had retreated.

Ti'maa wouldn't do that now (and felt slightly contemptuous of her "other" self in that regard).

"You know that I can not turn my back on one of my own in need....even that one," she saids softly, pointing at the translucent Rayek (still stuck between one reality and another).

She then looked up at her mother.

"When I got lost back in that castle during that field trip.....both you and father nearly tore the place apart looking for me," she said with a smile, remembering.

"You taught me that parents do that for their children," she continued. "Now, while not all parents actually do this for their children....the good ones do! So I must if I am to be a good parent with my children."

Her parents see within their hearts that this is true, so nod and then tenderly hug their silently crying child.

Annafrid just looks at the elfin family with a questioning look. Not familiar with all of the facts, she didn't understand just how Ti'mma could have said the things she'd said....and have it be the truth (as the others around her apparently saw it).

  1. "She seems awfully young to be a parent." Annafrid finds herself whispering to Joan, "What's the deal here?"
