"I can't move my sword-arm," gasped Fred. "Then let me take your sword,"
said Astra. "As well as fighting the giant spider, I can try and cut the
strands of web that bind you, though it will be a tricky business in the
dark. I wouldn't want accidentally to lop off a limb." "Perhaps it would
be better if you left that till daybreak and concentrated on fighting the
spider," said Fred rather nervously.

 Astra takes Fred's sword, and waits for
the spider to put in an appearance.

 Unfortunately, in trying
to get the sword from Fred's hand, Astra also gets entangled in the web.
