| Before anyone else could take advantage of Stacy's moment of confusion,
the Master grabbed for the gun. Stacy attempted to struggle, but the Master's
grip was too powerful for her, and he quickly had the weapon away from
her. But at least whatever evil influence he'd had over her was gone, and
Stacy's mind was clear again, even if she was still feeling rather lost
and confused.
During the brief struggle, the Doctor had leaped for the control panel on the console in the middle of the room, but even as he reached it, the Master brought the gun to bear on him. "Go on, Doctor, try it!" he said in a mocking voice. "I should enjoy killing you!" The Doctor hesitated, his hand almost reaching forward to the controls, but then lowered it to his side with a small sigh. "All right," he said calmly. "What now?" "Now? Why, now, Doctor, we set this TARDIS of yours to convey us to
a safe place from which to watch the fireworks! In mere moments, this entire
state will be blown sky-high!" He cackled evilly.
