Rei "A plugsuit Rei?" Ritsuko drawls slightly, looking down at herself in askance. "Any particular reason?"¯ Giving the older gentleman we've been talking with a small glance, I turn back to Dr. Akagi. While I may not be THE premier interpreter of facial expressions, I cannot help notice Dr. Morbius' odd look. "Gleep?" I say softly, blinking. . . . Okay, some say that "woman's intuition" is just an old wives’ tale, but then again those are also the people who say that magick is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Stage magicians who pull rabbits out of hats. Fantastic, not only do we have our resident spooky guy jumping around a bit like he's being bitten by invisible bugs but now we have Morbius here getting all out of sorts in a way that is creeping ME out now. Sigh, I fear that I am feeling my "woman's intuition" tingling right now. A boot is going to drop here real soon and it's going to be a BIG boot! However, I think I shall address Akagi's issues right now, and not leave her hanging. She's been mostly silent, only adding things here and there throughout the conversation (even IF it is in a very lilting, exotic accented English). She's been subdued but I doubt she'd remain so for much longer. Woman hates to be left out of the loop or marginalized, if you must know... So I'll address her question. I can address her, right here and now. Whatever the heck is going on first with the G-man (Reika shared what she saw) and now with this Morbius guy, I don't know what to make of it. Yet, anyway. Not yet, anyway. Dr. Morbius seemed surprise, but not as much (and not in a way) I had expected. I fear the other boot is going to be falling real soon and I DO hope it's not the size of Tokyo 3! But one thing at a time. "What I had to work with was one piece of clothing," I explain softly, smiling as I begin an impromptu lesson in magery. Hm, maybe I shall take up the task of teaching this new elfin woman the ways of magic after all. She had asked around and nobody had actually taken up the job of taking her in as an apprentice? No, that is for later. Right now first thing first and hope that shoe doesn’t decide to come down and flatten us! "The short of it is unless I want to change a very important detail about the one article of clothing that it is a single unit," I continue. "Then I have to keep it a single unit, else it makes reversing the process all the more difficult."¯ Oh, it’s actually easily done, reversing the spell that would have basically split the coat into two pieces and THEN transform it. However, I'm being . . . economical on my spells. Husbanding the manna within just in case all Hell breaks loose and I have to let fly with some powerful mage stuff, you see? Well, not totally economical . . . "Could have gone the route of just making a one piece swimsuit there,"¯ I say, gesturing at the green and black outfit (patterned after my old plugsuit). "But this covers more and I must add . . .it DOES seem so appropriate in a way."¯ Yes, fitting that the former Head of Project E should enjoy that same revealing outfit that us Pilots had to wear. "We’ll try to tailor up something for you in a moment with some of the spare clothing in a moment but it'll do for now,"¯ I finish up. "Not like plugsuits are good for extended road trips, you know."¯ "I should," she quips, then takes on an odd look as she looks down at herself again. Kind of a "Fey" look, really. Should know, I've seen similar looks on various elfin family members amongst those back home. She's accepting what she has become, thank God. I swear I do not need Ritsuko falling into insanity on top of everything else here... Ah, as an aside in case anyone wondered: I am taking a more "friendly, polite and diplomatic approach" because NOT being a big fan of Star Trek: TOS (more a Next Generationer fan myself). It is because I look back at the command style (such it was) of the various Commander Gendo Akaris I have witnessed). I want none of that and use his example as what NOT to do as a leader. But let it be known, if only between you and me, that I am a VERY nervous leader right now, polite or no! Playing it kind of dangerous with the very man who faced down Gendo Akari in his own lair and lived to tell about it. I have right to be wary of the man and am glad to see that something of a respect has grown between us. Honestly, did he think to manipulate me when he nominated me as party leader? Well, thus far... Nevermind, not important. Right NOW, anyway. Will still keep a weathered eye on that one, though! Just one worry in a whole series of worries, though. What IS important is what has to happen here soon. We have talks about just who my party is. What (in vague terms) my party is. Now we must talk of just HOW my part is here. "We came to this world through an ancient . . .interstellar teleportation system," I finish up. "It is . . ." But I never get around to it. . . … It’s not fair. First a Chaos Event has to go and completely rattle poor Dr. Akagi by transforming her into an elfin woman, really rattling her up something fierce. NOW that self same chaos has decided to drop some long lost NERV real estate practically on our laps here…
