Let the Earth Take Care of Itself Or What?!

As for Mina, she too has found herself bitten by the adventuring bug . . . but there is more to it than just that, of course! More of that in a micr. . . .er . . . second. Right now, I'm kinda happy that she wants to come with us!

The Doctor's given the nod, so that's good.

What's not good (or perhaps good) is one of the reasons why she's gonna come along. I mean it's so damn unfair . . .!

This is gathered together from some snide whispered comments from that fekkik Bond back at the museum before we'd left, in case you're wondering, so . . .

She has been living under a cloud of controversy ever since her divorce and certain . . . events had come to light surrounding it. No, I'm not talking about why that . . . husband of her's divorced her (not exactly). Mr. Harker (the worm!) could no longer stand to be with Mina because every time he saw her neck (with those particular scars given to her by Dracula) . . . . reminded him not only of his failure in protecting her but . . . was a rather large "sexual turnoff" to the man. . . .

What? He couldn't just shut off the lights when . . .?

Nevermind! The man's a weakling in my humble opinion and Mina's better off without that bastard if he couldn't . . .

Anyway, the clincher here for Mina wanting to leave with us is in part (I believe from what I've pieced together) is do to a . . . misunderstanding of what Count Dracula was and what he'd done with Mina. I and the others know the truth, but that's not the case with the "well to do" folks of England at large. They think that she'd been ravished by a foreigner! Oh, against her will but still that . . . dirtied her in the eyes of "polite society" so instead of sympathy towards one who'd miraculously survived a vampire attack, all she gets is DREN!

It's not fair. I-I mean I know that life's unfair and all that, but . . .

Sigh, see why she wants to leave, considering that she has suspected (for a while now) that the position that Bond offered her (and thus something of a place still in England) was nothing more than a "stalking horse", and as such at the very least she'd end out back in the cold . . . if not dead!

Yeah, see why she wants a new start somewhere else and from what Elrondir had told her while back at the museum (between grilling sessions of one Dr. Cavor over the nature of Cavorite) it appears that Terra Prime (our home base) is as good of place as any to harbor whilst not adventuring with us. . . . and better than most if the nature of her breakup with Mr. Harker should come to light again...

Then, of course, there is the unstated. The stuff that I can see they have for wanting to go together. When one of them spoke of wishing to come with us, the other nearly jumped outta their skin to follow.

Oh, they have it bad for each other, ya know. They want to run their hands over each other and . . .

Frell!! Do I have to keep using that same LINE I saw back in that weird TV show that mimicked my life back in the Uncharted?

Well, whatever. I mean I'm talkin' about how they feel for each other, Mina and Allan! At this stage, I don't think that Allan really realizes that he is falling for Mina, and Mina sure as frell certainly has NOT realized that she is falling for Allan. But I and the others can see that, even if it is much more than they are willing to admit even to themselves (Mina and Allan)!

Hez, I hope they don't take as long to figure that out (their relationship) as it had taken some back on Moya . . .

Uh, never mind. Long story that needn't go into right now, okay?

Just saying that Mina and Allan are going with us so they can stay together, even if they don't know that yet!

"'Kay," I nod, impatient for some kind of resolution here. "That's all nice an' stuff, but what are we gonna do next? Just drop off the Cavorite stuff and let the Earth take care of itself or what?!"

We had given 'em a leg up, letting them know the Martians are coming and all that! We know they're coming because of what the papers say and whatInquirer had (almost litterally) pried outta Bond before the League had boarded the TARDIS back at the museum...

Frankly, I just want to get back to Xanth and get my sister healed!! The longer we take the less chances she has, ya know!!
