Inquirer But it seems that one or two of the League members are sufficiently intrigued by us that they don't want to be dropped off, but would like to share in our future adventures instead. That doesn't include Griffin, of course. Honestly, I'd rather just dump him into the Thames than look at him a moment longer. Dr. Jekyll . . . is not exactly the adventurous type. More like the . . . . hrmph . . stay at home type. Mr. Hyde doesn’t want to come along because he’s . . . still rather put off by Sigin’s now revealed draconic nature. No loss there: he’d hardly be a suitable travel companion. As for Nemo, can see that he would like to come along with us after this is all said and done on this world, but he has responsibilities: one the Nautilus and the other being his wife and child back home (something that the book never mentioned, instead having him as single). . . . Those who wish to stay do not really surprise me: Mina and Allan. Oh, there is more there going on beneath the surface than they say (or are willing to admit), but for the most part I see where they are coming from, you know. Allan is the adventuring type and wants more, while not having to live under the crushing burden of the expectations of his adoring public back in England. He HAD faked his own death, as you may recall.
