Kind of a heck of a way to crash a party, eh!?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 44883

Aeryn Pip

Frell, how the Hez did we end up this way?

Wel, let’s just start sorta from the beginning to give a clearer picture, ‘kay?

Okay, I can see how the Replicants that swept along with us, Zora and Leon, could have been wanted to know what the "Hell" was going on. Elrondir had promised, after quickly saying that the way home lay (or at least the beginning of the way home) lay through a series of these really WEIRD doors (or Doors, can practically hear the capitalized letter . . . Somehow). Roy and the others had been so "weirded out" by what they had seen so far they had opted to stick with stuff they understood instead of us. This despite the stuff we’d shown (to their satisfaction) that we weren’t out to screw them or their world over. Hey, it’s easier than you think in a way. What they’d just seen in the TARDIS (hey, the TARDIS’ interior itself) had been enough. Clearly it was easy to see when you compare the technology of the TARDIS to what was available to Earth . . . No contest! We could have walked over them all "in cleats", as Crichton would say (gotta ask exactly what that means, but it’s meaning is clear enough). No, the disparity was so great that it was clear to them that no trickery on our part was needed to invade and win. That had been easy enough. The problem had been trying to get them to believe that they weren’t suffering some kind of hallucination. Won’t go into how we went through getting through that, but we overcame back in that place where we’d started . . . Before things went wrong.

Oh, we’d finished the Quest. Finished off with a success, but not in the "prescribed" manner. We’d gotten cornered and had to slam the Door closed, stranding us over in Midworld with only the LONG way home (walking back to the meet point by the Beam and Doors). Being that we had gone to so much trouble to . . .

Give up we’d not abandoned the Replicants just so we can get a frellin’ quick lift home, of course we’re going to do it the hard way!

Don’t look at me like that, surprised! It’s just frelling unfair that those bastards in Tyrell Corporation gave these "Replicants" a FOUR cycle . . . year lifespan. I mean . . . four years isn’t dren!

Agreed with my sis on THAT! Some others might have been…

Nevermind, we’re walking, bottom line.

Just . . . I kind of wish that Leon hadn’t jumped and shouted in surprise when Elrondir started explaining . . .

By telepathy! Before hand we’d let them know that we’d wanted to be VERY quiet. Soldier training that they’d had let them jell with that, but you’d THINK that after all they’d seen they’d have . . . Well, expected something like telepathy! Not like it’s exactly an unheard of thing from the Uncharted!

….

Wait, I just remembered that John (mine) having said telepathy being thought a myth on his world.

Okay…

Well, anyway, back to the show.

  1. "Will you be QUIET!" I whisper sharply at Leon. "We wanted to make a little contact on this island as possible. Frell!"
