The Jool of Farscape!

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 39639

Chiana

“Oh god,” whispers Ragan, recognizing something outside that trips a memory. “Eat me?”

"Yeah, it kind of looks like that." Betty sighs.

.....

Sharing a glance with Elrondir, who shrugs and mouths something that I can't read (Babelfish translates spoken words, it doesn't let me read lips).

"Okay," I sigh. "I'll ask. What in the frellin' Hezmana are you two talking about? Something from Farscape?"

Answer I get I should have known. Of COURSE it's from Farscape.

.....

Uh, wait. I'm familiar with Farscape, right? Lived in a reality and all that, so why am I feeling a sinking feeling in my stomach over this?

Hm, might be the music. In another setting, alone and in the dark (and unarmed), I can see it might scare me nearly half grotless...

Speaking of music, Betty and Ragan add that this farhbot music (which is getting on my nerves) isn't from Farscape. They'd never heard it before, really.

Elrondir, however, IS familiar with it.

"It's from Resident Evil the video game," the elf mutters, looking up at Ragan. "You know, the one with that viral weapon that changed people into flesh eating zombies and all that? Favorite weapon had been the shotgun, myself."

Video games? What are...

Wait, now I remember. Crichton had mentioned them sometime in the past about those things. He'd not been too clear (he's NEVER clear when he talks) but I think that they're similar to Reality Games I sometimes fool around with.

Yodi had been my favorite gamemaker...

And after Betty tells us all (the others have come up to listen) what this particular episode (the basics) makes me rather glad we have things better than shotguns. Stun setting or not, if Betty is right, then we're going to need weapons with all the punch we can GET, given what Betty has said (AND Betty's insights into Farscape has a damnable tendency at being "spot on"). Not everything, but just enough to count.... Which is pretty disturbing when such dren centers around yourself!

....

"Omni-sexual"?! I mean I had thoughts and, but.... And I admit that my sisters we'd left back on Babylon 5 had done some, but I'd think that I....

Nevermind, it's not important. Things changed when I changed...

....

"Let's get this blotching Key component and get it over with," I say as we open up the Transport Pod to step out.

Ragan

"Furlow's the only Farscape character to use 'blotching'," I mutter to myself. Chiana NEVER used one of those words.

....

Then again, I've heard her start to use words (curse words in particular) that some of the more "hotheaded" Companions use from time to time. She always was rather adaptive. Great survival tool she has there. Good enough to catch on what to say and what not to say, as it were. Have yet to hear her say Jehoshaphat, because I think she kind of knows she’ll get a bit of friendly razing from the others if she does. The Doctor takes it with good humor, but...

Nevermind. At least the Doctor was a better sport about that kind of razing from us than Uhura when we made a small joke about Kirk now probably having to pick up his cadence of speech, now that he’ll have a “whinny”, “snort”, or some other kind of horse noise interspersed within every sentence he speaks. If he tries to speak in his old style of speech with dramatic pauses, it’s going to take all bloody day to get an order out!

The joke had been in better good taste, trust me. Just that one should remember that the crew of the Enterprise is rather defensive about the captain. Seems that Uhura (formerly named Fred D’Honaire) has picked up that trait during the brief time on the Enterprise.

At least things didn’t get TOO out of hand.

....

Well, anyway, the Doctor was spot on in his assessment. Jool, who’s wound up tighter than a kid’s Mickey Mouse wristwatch, unfreezes as we step down onto the deck of this Living Ship.

Lemme see, somewhere in this mess should be a duplicate Crichton running around. No, wait. That’s only near the end where he’d initiated Starburst.

Think, Ragan! The Farscape folk might not be intertwined in this Quest business (yet), but when and if it happens they’ll still be a factor. Perhaps even a danger, considering how all those PK zombies will have them rather twitchy, jumping at shadows! Rather wouldn’t like to get shot by John’s pulse pistol, Winnona!

If I remember correctly, if Jool’s the only one here, then D’Argo’s been already duplicated (and his twin’s brain eaten). Maybe by now Chiana’s been....the native Chaina’s been Twinned and....

Oh shit! I just remembered something that I should have told them about Jool here. No, she’s not a danger with that pulse rifle she has there (can’t hit anything with it right now if I remember correctly). But she’s just spotted us and we frightened her grotless. And she has this bad habit of...screaming. A scream that seems to be really doing a number on Inquirer (or rather her skeleton) by the pain on her face...

YEEEE- AAAA AAHHHHHHHH! “ Jool screams, causing everyone to grab at their ears because of that ear splitting scream.

  1. Which cuts off by the usual means used in the show, delivered after a clatter of unshod hooves and a fierce neigh...
