Kirk "Centaurs?" Uhura gasps, causing me to look at her oddly. Surely she means the Centauri instead of centaurs! But why would she call these naked women (who've gotten in here by teleporter, somehow, without tripping off an alarm) Centauris? I mean, there had been a recent, deadly outbreak of a disease called the Centauri flu who's symptoms involved.... Oh good God....! The bastard who just put these sweating women inside here must have shut off the bio-filter function on his teleporter and . . . . my ship!! "Kirk to Bridge!" I yell, running over to a wall comm unit within the main briefing room. "Medical Emergency! Shut off air circulation and initiate contamination procedures, One-three.....snort!.....one!" I give a startled whinny (?!), and stumble over to a table to steady myself. With another horse sound (a neigh) my pants split as . . . .an extra set of legs grow out of me and my lower body grows and changes! A centaur?! I'm gapping down at myself, only noting that where those two naked women were now are still human appearing women, but . . . See Uhura's skin lightening up, turning blonde while changing into... .... Smell . . . . fillies. . . . Season.... Mind growing . . .fuzzy . . . . "Enjoy the Centaur flu, Captain!" voice says mocking. Annoying. Ignore... Female....
Now, for those who aren't familiar with Addventure Game 3 might wonder what exactly Centaur Flu is, beyond the self evident, eh? Well, basically it is a magical disease that transforms it's victims into centaurs (men into male centaurs and females into female centaurs). It's an airborne disease that, as you might have guess, is passed through odor, thus the smell of horse flesh that Kirk smelt right before his change. As you also can see, as per the sometime rather low brow humor of Game 3, the new centaurs find themselves rather randy (females in season while the male rather . . . receptive). Only reason why the new naked women haven't changed is due to the Key component within them, freezing their forms into their current shapes. So right now they're trapped in the final moment right before they'd change, but not quiet being able to do it. So right now (besides sweating bullets and giving off their infectious smell) they're kind of "Typhoid Marries", if you can dig it. The one who calls herself Hannah Fredrics still is vastly confused and disoriented, but the one we'll call Belinda Boswell for now at least has some clue. See, on her world there was a rare, but dangerous form of neo-lycanthropy which creates what are, in effect, "were-centaurs". She thinks that, somehow, Kirk and Uhura/Fred have caught that disease/curse, and fears what the obvious next step will cost them! See, the thing here with his world's neo-lycanthropy is that while curable (a rare thing!), that's only possible if the victims does not have intercourse as their bodies demand! The end result would seal the curse, making it impossible to lift. The tell tale tell of such a seal is the victim's head would change from human to equine (making them full on "equi- taurs" as they are known in some circles). Note: for a perfect example of this look here: http://www. transfur.com/ artwork/ showimage.asp ?id=6035 These equi-taurs are fully hostage to their instincts, barely sentient, and totally objects of pity, especially by the real, noble non- lycanthropic centaurs! So, forgetting for a moment that earlier she'd not been able to do it, she casts a spell that freezes both the newly made amorous centaurs from . . . doing something they'll regret) As an aside, something similar happens to Terra Prime centaurs soon upon coming into majority. The event is a bit less extreme than the equi- taur thing and not as extreme, mentally. However, it kind of locks the centuar's mind into a narrow frame, symbolized by their human seeming ears turning into equine ears.... Keeping them nomadic and isolationist. Legend says that if a centaur can overcome and rise above this inclination at "The Moment" (as it's known), then their descendants shall be spared the wild and savage ways. One prime example would be Chiron in other worlds, but as of yet nothing like that has happened except for one centauress who'd become a Champion. Another male centaur had come close, but failed in the end. The fellow's name had been Ravenmane (a former Fred analog who's original spirit got displaced by a noble centaur soul.....long story). In the end, instead of rising up to lead and unite the other centaurs, his instincts had overcame him and now he's nothing more than a chief (the Head Stallion of his herd). That said, it's the reason why Kirk and Uhura/Fred are frozen in place "God, where in the Hell am I?" she shouts to herself, deafened by the Red Alert klaxon so familiar to those who've seen Star Trek. And this is what the TARDIS comes into as the Rules and Agents send it to materialize alongside the endangered Enterprise.
