"Dunno," Hannah replied as they entered the room that would be their home away from home for the next four years. "Right now, I'm just glad to be here - they say St. Tobias University is one of the toughest in the country to get into!" "I heard that, too," another voice answered. The two girls turned around to see: A man holding a strange-looking weapon. It's a wand! It is a wand, and not just any kind of wand but a magical wand! The glyphes on it are a giveaway, folks. Tells those who are in the know that the thing pointing right at them is something MORE than some second rate stage magician! Yes, it's a mage wand. It's not one of the more modern, traditional looking (as far as this version of our Earth) weaponary (strange looking or not), but at least one of the two girls recognizes it vaguely. A vague recognition that suddenly crystallizes into a very concrete recognition as something comes back. In another, parallel timestream to this one a Belboz and a Fred who were also subject of the "Two Girl" prophecy (and were betrayed by their own Elaines) had subjects of the Transform Door. In that particular stream they'd become female ogres, without any memory of ever having been anything else. The female ogre named Fre' regained her memories, but only due to circumstances which triggered those memories. The trigger event for Fre' had been concerning honor, something that Fre' was capable of handling even in her dim state, back then. The other female ogre named Belda required a trigger event that was too advanced for her. If she'd been brighter, that female ogre might have been able to understand magery. As it was, she was too dim of mind. Oh, she'd later on she'd discover/regain some kind of magical ability, but only as a shamaness (which requires other things than brains, folks). But this version of Belboz, this young woman who's calling herself Belinda Boswell makes it! It had been a long shot at best (and odds for recovery will get longer and longer for victims as time goes on if recovery is to happen.....and by this time the chances of Belda recovering her old memories are not even worth mentioning).... Well, anyway, Belinda Boswell (we'll call her that for now for convenience) suddenly remembers her life before the Door! "No DON'T!" she screams, seeing her life flash before her eyes before the wand's spell envelopes her and her new roommate, knocking both cold. Scott Chen, recent ally to the rogue Demon named Randall Flagg, looks down at the sleeping beauties before him. "Well, congrats on being accepted into the campus," he mutters, "Even IF that putz Elaine rigged it all with his magic before sending you here." "Kinda good fill in job he did with your new identities on this world, really." he admits to himself, jealous. Despite all his newly acquired Author powers, he was still learning the ropes. Honestly, dim though this Scott Chen can be at times, he had a sneaking suspicion that RF saw him nothing more than a convenient tool than a friend and ally. Whatever. Whatever the case, he was now in a better position by far under RF than he'd been on his own. So many to take revenge on and so little time!! But first, he had to take care of this task he'd been asked by RF to handle. Pick up these two girls and drop them off at the Oracles place. Delivery made, the Oracle (thanking the heavens that that putz Scott hadn't decided on being cute and transform these girls beforehand . . . risking Matrix insanity) awaits RF to finish his business with the girls before he sends them on the way. The Oracle, having already sent off some other Fred turned female recently to an interesting place, had decided to send these others off after him (just to have them out of his hair), pauses when he comes next to his master who'd saved him from his vengful teacher, the Zerm who'd been saved by all those gryphons. Nevermind, long story we don't need to go into here right now. Let us just say that if Flagg hadn't pulled the Oracle away from that reality, Zerm would have killed the Oracle. The Oracle had gained Zerms trust and learned the ancient ways of Atlantian magic, but had only been discovered later that his intentions weren't as pure as he'd let on. He'd managed to fool Zerm (no easy feat), but eventually the Atlantian mage had learned that the Oracle wanted to use those powers for his own selfish, evil means. "Felt like having Greek tonight?" the Oracle quipped. "Well, I'd been thinking perhaps Chinese or maybe even something Japanese," RF blinks, looking at his handywork, "But I figured these figures from Greek mythology would do." "And rather interesting to watch the results," Scott adds, admiring. "What with the Two Girl prophecy. Male to female transformations happened to me all the time back at Game 3." The Oracle gives Scott a whithering look, seeing the excited look that Scott has right now as he watches the male centaurs turn female. He himself liked doing that to his enemies, but he liked doing it quickly. This slow change business (which Scott here was getting a thrill over) just struck the Oracle as being sick... But that was him... The Oracle then blinks, thinking of something. ""Hey, you remember you saying how difficult it was sometime when somebody might witness you," the Oracle begins. "Say that all your male disguises are too public knowledge? How about some female forms to throw off your hunters?" The Oracle shows some suggestions via magical illusion, and RF is suprised that some . . . kind of appealed. The one especially with symbols profane to the heavens especially... Nevermind.... Anywho, next thing we know, after the Oracle gives off a teasing taunt to "Lady Fred".... Kirk Suddenly, an eerie voice filled the room, or so it seemed to Fred. "Ah, Dear Lady Fred - already surrendering to the inevitable, I see!" "Who is this?" I shout, not happy at all that someone is fooling around with the coms like that. "Nobody that you need to know, dear Captain," the voice chuckles. "You'll have more things to worry about with these signs of what you'll need to worry about, what with this portents of things to come!" Suddenly, two female forms appear out of thin air. There is an odd smell in the air. Horseflesh, I'd say but athese two naked girls before me are not horses. They're sweating bullets, but they're not horses (despite the smell coming off them)...
