The Brigadier "So you are the lucky woman!" I exclaim somewhat excitedly despite myself. For the life of me I had for some reason expected someone...er...older appearing than this oddly named one with a glittering bauble in her forehead before me. Then again, one must remember that Timelords have this rather quant habit of changing appearances (and personalities). Either this Inquirer is a fellow Timelord or is another race entirely. I remember the Doctor saying something about how Timelords sometimes pursue relationships with those not of their own world. Putting that aside for the moment (will have to ask politely about that later). "Just let me congratu....." I begin to continue, only to nearly get clipped by an oddly familiar looking antique car comes tearing down the road and screeching to halt before us! Whoever the devil it is, she's driving Bessie, the Doctor's favorite car (and rather recklessly at that)! I demand (rather shout) as I storm over to the drive to know who she is and what the meaning to all that was (ready to bodily yank him from the driver seat if I deem it necessarily). It might not be the "gentlemanly" thing to do, but one must make allowances for certain situations, eh? "Shou Yuing?" whispers the one known as Ragan. I glance back at her, ready to ask if she knows this chap, only to look back when the woman in question groans and slumps in her seat. Her eyes (rather pain glazed) looks beyond me and at Ace. She then mutters something about Farscape 1 and escaping from some chap named Scorpius. She then mutters something about Ace and she might have said more, but she then just passes out. (Author's Note: "Farscape", all related characters and elements are trademarked to The Jim Henson Company. All rights reserved). Putting questions aside, Bambera does the decent thing and orders this "Shou Yuing" taken to the nearby UNIT Detachment, where her wounds will be tended to. Looks like she's been tortured, for goodness sake! Half of our group piles into Bambera's vehicle whilst the other half climb into old Bessie (who the Doctor gives an odd glance as if having not expected to see it). However, instead of him driving it, the one known as Betty takes up the task. The Doctor seems to have become enthralled by some kind of device that beeped at him. Whatever it is, the readings seem to worry him.... I ask question, naturally enough. What can one do in a situation like this if one doesn't bloody well know enough to do something, right? A proper soldier needs information in order to know how to act...or react in a situation, after all! However, as per usual the Doctor puts me off by saying he'll "explain later." He seems to be rather busy. I turn instead to Ace and ask what she can tell me of this chap we've come across. I ask her if she's an associate of hers. Shaking her head, she says she's never met her before. Ragan looks like she'd like to say something on that matter, but only shakes her head and keeps silent. Almost like she knows something and doesn't know just how to say it properly? Nothing for it for now, I fear, we've arrived.... UNIT Control Room It will come to light that something similar to what had happened in the TV episode called Battlefield is playing out here as well. Some kind of signal, a cry, is being sent out forward, backwards, and sideways in time. Across the boundaries that divide one universe from another. It would appear that some kind of battle will be taking place between two groups not of this Earth. "Bet you know who's going to be involved," Betty mutters to Ragan softly. The other nods, a bit of chagrin on her face. But however, the Doctor also informs the others present that there seems to be some kind of interference going on that is disrupting communications. Something much like the electromagnetic pulse one gets when they light off a nuclear device. As evidence to the skeptical Bambera, the Timelord points out the readings the controls are giving off in this room. Bambera, however, looks somewhat rebellious still and was about to order them off the grounds, only to be taken aside by the Brigadier. Whatever the two discuss sounds heated in some parts, but it soon comes about that Bambera will at least seriously listen to the Doctor before making any commitments. "As for the rest about Farscape 1...." the Doctor sighs, shaking his head, "I have no idea what that is about." The woman who'd almost ran over the Brig had recovered and was now up and about, but besides a vague feeling that this has happened to her before, she can't seem to recall any details. Oh, she's been here before and feels she's lived this situation before, but.... "At least I don't have to impersonate Elizabeth Shaw," Betty murmurs to herself before Ragan tells them about that one scifi show called Farscape. "Farscape 1 was that special Earth spaceship that accidently created a means to slip into another section of the universe," she says, "As for Scorpius....well. That's the TV show's bad guy. Don't know how this all relates to the task at hand, really, but...." Ace interrupts: "Was....there a blue woman in that show?" Better believe that question caused a lot of excitement with the two avid scifi fans! Meanwhile, Bambera is trying very hard to not lose her temper and demand that she be told what the bloody heck these two are talking about! What they've said so far was utterly preposterous! "So you're saying that we'll find some kind of....spaceship containing the body of King Arthur?" she asks finally, "And not only that we may find some other kind of spaceship as well.....from a TV show?!" "If we do that we'll open up a whole new wormhole." Ragan says, shaking her head, remembering reading it from one of B'Elanna's newest infatuation. "You know," Betty says from the side, "Now, I actually like that one. Of course, you probably expected that." "The sort of remark that was an everyday occurrence on the bridge of the Enterprise." B'Elanna puts in from the side, deadpan, quoting from yet another Dilbert newsletter she had grown rather fond of. She then laughs a fey laugh as the others just look at her. Soon enough, they find it behooved them all to get a certain scabbard from a nearby hotel bar. But, of course, that's when some off-reality knights show up. One group is in Morgaine's camp, the leader her son. Bombs have been going off and bullets don't seem to faze them. "I told you that wouldn't work," the Doctor mutters toward Bambera. They find it a great time to make a convenient withdrawal to the brewery, where things might be safer (at least for the momment). Now, as for at least one other alien knight, he would be (or could be if things go right) in the Doctor's camp. Seems to think the Timelord is Merlin....despite appearing different. He (the knight) looks rather banged up from his trip, as it were...
