So with the Doctor Who story....

Well, here's how it started. One fine sunny day for an older couple were looking over the plants in the garden centre to plant back at their home....

I suppress a small sigh, not exactly thrilled with this centre's range of selection of plants. That and....

Well....

I then blink a little bit as my wife, Doris, calls my attention as I carry yet another set of plants over for inspection.

Back in my unit day's I would have just ordered somebody (perhaps Sergeant Benton) to take care of such details. Tree planting party at the double!

"Alistair," she calls, "Alistair?"

"Mmm?" I respond, turning a little to look at her.

"What about this one?" She asks as she indicates one of the plants I have already brought over for review five minutes ago.

"Oh fine." I say simply, if without much enthusiasm, "If you like it Doris."

She turns to scold me, I am sure, for a lack of enthusiasm only to be interrupted by a bright flash of light (almost like lightening from a thunderstorm). Then, landing with a heavy thump that crushes the very plants that Doris was examining, is a young woman....a girl!

A girl that has just appeared from thin air!

1. Wind obviously knocked out of her from her fall, she groans (shaking her head a bit as if a bit dizzy) and then looks up and blinks at me and my wife.
