Elrondir lives up to his old name...

The Never Ending Quest - episode 20336

Elrondir

"Oh, here we go" I say in a disgusted voice.

I say it loud enough to be heard by even Chekov, I'm sure, but frankly I am too put off by what he did to care.

This situation has rapidly gone downhill, let us just say and leave it at that.

I cannot believe that Chekov would have done something so bone-headedly public as grabbing a celebrity in broad daylight. Guess I overestimated his restraint, alas.

Just a short time later, after the others fail to calm this ordeal, I see that security (dressed as Klingons) is approaching.

"Er, sorry," Chekov says, looking like he is wondering if now is the time to make a break for it. Thought I'm somewhat hidden from view by the others (I and the other elves are disguised as children dressed as elves)

While I'm shaking my head at that one (no real place to run since we're surrounded....more or less), I feel something being slipped over my shoulders! That and a special bag of holding that Fred the fairy is hiding in is slipped on my belt.

Live up to your old name, brother! Inquirer whispers in my mind as she turns away after having placed her special cloak of invisibility upon me, I shall do what I must to distract them!.

I was named Seeker before I renamed myself Elrondir, and so I am to seek out our target....if Inquirer is lucky....

It only takes a second or so for it to shrink down to fit my small elfin frame, but already I have willed it to hide me from view as Inquirer jumps to the fore and plays out the hand dealt her.

.....

Must say she's rather good at concocting the most believable tales out of complete and utter BS! Guess that's the reason why her TORG games are so fun to play in, I believe. Now, while I must admit that she's making a scene right now, it's more to draw more attention off any minds who might notice that one child in this group has gone missing.

It's at Chekov's expense and his pride might take a hit from it, but frankly I figure he owes us something for getting the spotlight on us like he just did....

Bascially, as I dodge between people's leg, Inquirer is making out Chekov as having missed his medication and promising that after this business was over they were going to have a long talk with their doctor who'd recommended this trip to the convention as a form of therapy. She says that Chekov (who she calls a different name, of course) had indeed been a great fan of Star Trek: The Original Series. A great fan of Shatner most of all! Had indeed even formed a "William Shatner Anti-Defamation League" and had been the president, but it soon came to light that....he'd come down with a form of schizophrenia and came to actually have episodes where he'd believe that the TV show was real....

Well, while it doesn't keep Security from rounding them up, it draws enough sympathy that my friends don't get hauled off by police! So, while they can't come back inside any time soon....it does not mean that I can't do something.

Now that I am invisible, I can break out my tricorder and look for Uhura. While it may be newer than Chekov's model, I fear that through some quirk of fate it doesn't have the features that his does, alas. The company (for want for a better word) who made it discontinued that feature on the theory those features were too little used over the years to bother with so.....

So I can't get anything on it!!

I concentrate hard to keep from cursing (and causing enough of a lapse in concentration needed for maintaining the cloak's nature).

I do have one last recourse that, frankly..... Frankly should have been tapped well before now! Would almost leave it to the other group (somewhere here at the convention I believe), rather than this, but...

Well....

Then again, I kind of fear tapping Fred the fairy's ability. She's been struggling silently against the pull of the fey upon her, despite hiding it from the others.

  1. It'll be painful for her to do it, but she must in order for me to know....
