"Die!" Andor shouts, pulling something and making a stabbing motion
with....whatever he'd pulled out of his pouch.....only to have the motion
arrested by the nerve block I placed on his arm.
From the yelp and look of pain on this cretin's face, I'm pretty sure
that I applied it correctly.
Nice to see I still have the touch and all that.
"Play nice and be quiet," I say softly to Andor and , "Or I'll feed
you to the dragon. Do you want that?"
A look of horror passes over both of them, and they violently shake
their heads.
No, they'd not like that at all.
Frankly, I'm rather impressed with the quality of intimidation Sigin
had with these jokers. Looks like Andor's forgotten entirely about wanting
to kill Neeva.
Oh, Betty and Ragan expressed some surprise about the fact that the
red welt still on Neeva's cheek was delivered by Sigin's rough treatment
of him. However, one has to remember that Sigin (as well as Gilmuriel and
E'eysha) hail from worlds where such....er....hands on treatment was a
valid tool in dealing with insubordination and the like on those wooden
sailing ships. Point in fact, that's why those of Terra Prime seem not
so surprised and shocked when they learn that the Military uses corporal
punishment. It's common in a lot of places on Terra Prime...and unfortunately
things have.....er.....regressed to where such things are needed for the
Military.
But that said and done, it's rather nice not having to shoot, kill,
or physically rough up people to drive the point home. Sometimes just doing
something seeming crazy....like eating this neuro-toxin laded thorn, does
wonders in keeping the peace as well!
"And you don't want to get me angry, either." I say meaningfully,
smiling.
Needs salt, I think to myself as I turn back to seeing what the
Doctor is saying to that poor, insane AI.
"But....but there's no cure!" Leela sputters, looking at me, amazed
that I'm not frozen in place and dying.
"Hey, didn't I say that I wasn't human," I whisper to Leela, who's staring
at me, "Goes to reason that what's bad for human beings isn't always bad
for other species, right?"
-
"Er.....right,"
Leela blinks, obviously wondering for the fiftieth time what she's gotten
herself into her.
