Betty-2 uttered some words that would never have made it past the
BBC censors.
Her brown-haired counterpart simply stared for a moment in open-mouthed
shock, then swallowed and said "Wow. I always wondered whether that could
happen."
Betty-2 giggled, a note of hysteria in her voice. "He's gonna be
pissed. Never be able to grow a Beard of Evil now!"
"I'm not sure which is more bizarre," replied Betty-1, "the fact
that he's female, or the fact that he's -- she's -- *blonde*! I mean, that
just ain't right!"
Melissa turned to the Doctor, who was looking even more taken aback
than the Bettys, and said "Um, does that, like, happen a lot?"
"No," said the Doctor, as he bent down to examine the unconscious
body of his fellow Time Lord. "No, it most certainly doesn't. In fact,
it's exceedingly rare."
"What, he just got lucky?" asked Betty-2. She started giggling again.
"Oh, man, I can't wait to see her face when she wakes up!"
But the Doctor wasn't laughing. In fact, he was frowning. "Something
very strange is going on here," he said.
"Strange!" exclaimed Stacy. "Strange doesn't even begin to describe
it! What the hell just happened?"
"Regeneration," muttered Betty-1. "It's a Time Lord thing."
"Oh, well, that explains everything," Stacy began sarcastically,
but the Doctor cut her off.
"No there's something else going on here. Both our TARDISes disappear,
then a blow to the head that should have had only very mild effects induces
a regeneration... And now this regenerative anomaly. Something's definitely
not right."
Whatever he might have said next was drowned out by the sound of
a TARDIS materializing.
By the sound of it, it's actually three TARDISes materializing
within seconds of each other.
But there is only ONE TARDIS appearing.....
As it does in the very room that the others are in!
One red-shirted guard that had beamed down along with Kirk and the others
has an almost comical look of disbelief and horror as he disappears.....and
a blue police box forms in the same spot that he had been!
The Doctor rushes around to the backside of this TARDIS as the room
explodes into a thunderstorm of questions. He comes around the other side.
"I believe that the TARDIS just appeared around that man," the Time
Lord assures the Star Fleeters. "He's safe."
"Just like the TARDIS did to the police box back in the beginning of
Logopolis," Betty whispered to Ragan (who nods in agreement).
A frantic call by the redshirt via his communicator confirms this.
The Doctor is about to use his own old TARDIS key to see if it will
work on this TARDIS' door (it's locked and the Time Lord has a.....feeling
that this is his counterparts Type 40 TARDIS).
"Fascinating," Spock suddenly says, looking at the picture while holding
an active tricorder.

The "images"
are staring at them. Right at them!
