"Well," said Dr. Who in a bright, cheerful tone that seemd bizarrely
at odds with the dark solemnity of the place. "The entrance to Rassilon's
tower."
Susan looked at Betty and Ragan, since they seemed to be the ones who
knew what was going on here (even if this whole concept of her grandfather's
life being a TV show still seemed ridiculous to her). "What now?"
Betty pointed to a bell-shaped object mounted near the door. "Well,
first off, there's an entry coder for the door." She looked at the First
Doctor (marvelling, as she had continually been, at how young he now looked).
"You keyed something into it and the door opened, but I have no idea what
it was."
"Hmm," said the First Doctor. "Let me see." He opened the bell-shaped
cover, and studied the keypad beneath it for a second, then chuckled softly.
"Ah, yes, I see." His fingers tripped lightly over the keys. The Third
Doctor, who had been standing there looking over his shoulder, smiled.
"Ah, yes. Just what I would do." The doors opened.
Ragan gave the Third and First Doctors a suspicious look. "So, how did
you figure out the code, then?" They both just smiled at her. "OK, fine,
be
mysterious," she said in a grumpily amused tone.
"We should keep moving," Gilmuriel reminded them. "We're not at our
destination yet."
"Quite right," said Dr, Who, stepping through the door. "Come on!"

They
all stopped talking and followed him into the dimly lit, ominous corridors
of the Tower.
