But as I listen to Illura lay out her proposal (after a long day of searching for me. . ..made myself "scarce" in order to. . ..plan my next move. . ...if I had one). . ..

I. . ..suddenly am. . ..struck. . ...by. . ...Illura's. . ..divine. . ..

By God, I'd follow this. . ..Amazonian queen anywhere. . .. A sudden sweeping sense of rightiousness (almost holiness) sweeps through me! By God, I shall!

Before she very goes into the meat of her proposal. . .. "Lead me, oh queen!" I nearly shout, kneeling before her. "I shall be your handsworn liegema . . . er . . . . liegelady!!"

Startled, Illura pauses and . . ...sputters. . ..

"Uh . . . . hold that thought and wait . . . . wait a moment," she says. Then going off to speak with her advisors. . ..

That I shall for my lady and queen!

She then stops, as if hearing me, and then walks back to me.

"I've changed my mind," she says softly, with a look . . . . .

That confuses me.
