p>"I'm afraid we can't restore you to how you were," Synizn tells her.
"Belboz didn't intend his handiwork to be undone. Nor can we undo what
has happened to your friend."
Both Astrid and Djinn Astra seem to take this news quite well. Joan
Seems that they were familiar enough with magical theory to know about Matrixes and such....and know that their acceptance of their situation is natural enough. As it is, while I can see a love forming between Astrid and Djinn Astra, it's more of a sisterly nature now than anything else....or turning into one now. Nothing against a woman loving a woman or anything like that....like as domestic partners and such, but somehow I'd somehow be....uncomfortable with the thought of somebody like myself doing that. Er, just drop it, Joan! "Best thing we should do right now is get moving," I says softly, "While with these Medallions we have from Slith make our presence untraceable to the Dragon by magical means, nothing against him just sending out Dragon women patrols to sweep for us!" Point in fact we'd better hurry! I may not be a magic user, but I figure that the Dragon had a good track of this latest Fred abduction before our interference. Knowing something amiss, he'll send somebody (or several somebodies) to check things out. That would needlessly complicate things if we don't hurry. See, the plan is to see if we can somehow ambush and harmlessly subdue the dragon women (or at least Frozh) harmlessly before taking the fight to the dragon. Then, if and when we defeat the dragon, we find out what happened with Sir JH! So, as quickly and quietly as possible, we get out of the immediate area and head deeper into the caves Half hour later.... "Wait," Djinn Astra suddenly whispers, holding up a hand, "Someone comes. I shall see who it is." Suddenly invisible with a thought (remember, she still has powers over her own body) and shielded with a spare medallion, she heads off to do some scouting. Being incredibly fast (faster than the human eye can follow....if she'd been visible, that is) she's back before we know it. "Have news," she says softly, "Yonder tunnel leads to an entrance to a large cavern ahead. The entrance is high above the cavern floor and hidden from casual observation from those within it, the very draco-women you spoke of!" Then she explains that the leader of the dragon women, Frozh, is in there, apparently coordinating a search for us. Could be wrong, but all but two others have gone out on a search pattern, leaving Frozh and I guess her lieutenants there. "We could mayhap sneak in and knock them out from afar," Andrea thinks to herself, "Then levitate them up to us before the others discovered us....." The Champions couldn't manage phasors, but sedatives strong enough to knock out an elephant in darts thrown by dart guns are a good second choice. Astra 9 had suggested it and Jarlath had been able to conjure it a bit ago..... If that didn't work, perhaps the heavy duty Tasers the police department of Nantucket will do? The Voyager folks couldn't help, but the Nantucket folks were (bless them)! Slith volunteered (bless HIM) in seeing if they'd do....and it worked. Poor fellow will be walking funny for a few days, though..... If it worked on that Draconian, I think it's going to work on the dragon women (who may be wearing magical armor, maybe, but I'll bet they aren't shielded against mundane electricity)! Wonder why we hadn't thought to do that earlier, but....well.... Well, I guess we're not perfect...... However, if that doesn't work, then theirs the old fashioned way.... Question is, should we try our plans right now? Meanwhile Frozh is looking about the caverns, wondering where her query is. Without being able to scent them (magical cloaking, no doubt), this was proving harder than she'd anticipated.
