He manages to wriggle out of Annafrid's grasp and...suddenly Annafrida
and Astra blink in surprise as a glowing sword appears in the bully's hand!
That, and Tony is now decked out in the
Andrea, catching the sight of this, decides that things appear to be
getting out of hand (a beginning of acrowd seems to be forming).
This area of town is the more well to do part of town and as such scenes
of public domestic disputes, such as the slapping that Freddi had done
and the shouting by Tony afterwards (a slight oversight by him....seeing
that he was more used to cultures less adverse to couples venting their
spleens in public) was unusual enough to attract attention in the first
place. Not to say that....er....domestic violence didn't happen in
the upper social castes of this world. Rather, by social custom it's
more.....discrete due to social customs. Anyway, heads had been turned
by the unseemly dispute outside in the street before, and the arrival of
the others out of thin air didn't help matters at all! What we had
here was an awkward situation growing more so by the moment.
With a twitch of annoyance shown by her fox ears she cast the first
of two spells.
Blind sided by both the fact the spell hits him from behind AND the
fact that Tony still believes he's dealing with this world's denizens (who's
magical knowledge only extends to unbelieved fairy tale and silly fantasy
novels). Basically, he falls to the ground and proceeds to snore
in a loud....sloppy manner. A reek of cheap alcohol comes from the
sleeping man.
The second spell causes the party members who are still standing to
vanish from casual sight. Those who witness the disappearance shake
their heads violently, not believing it. To a person, they then proceed
to talk themselves out of what they'd just seen. Isn't like magic
really exists, right? Don't want to be thrown into the booby hatch
and it had been a trying and long day anyway, they reason to themselves,
so they fail to mention Freddi and the others who vanished to the police
officers who arrive and arrest the drunken Tony for disturbing the peace.
One woman in particular also fails to mention a word she heard from
off to the side.

It sounded
like "Kewlll!" It sounds like the speaker is a young sounding woman.....sort
of. See, there was an unearthly.....undertone to that word.
Nothing menacing.....just unearthly seeming.....
