The dragons land in front of Dr Vincent's tower, their human passengers
get off, and then the dragons transform into human form. Given the Doctor's
magical and scientific abilities, as related to the party by Fred (who
is the only one actually to have met him), they are in no doubt that he
will be aware of their arrival and that the dragons have changed into a
more practical form for being invited inside. For they hope that they will
be invited in, or failing that that Vincent will come out to meet them.
Otherwise things would be rather... difficult.
Most of the party wouldn't want to have to use force, either physical or magical in nature, against the essentially well-meaning (if rather eccentric) mage. One or two of the dragons feel sufficiently angry about hat they regard as the desecration of Malachi's corpse that they would have welcomed doing so, but fortunately wiser councils have prevailed. Also, given Vincent's unusual abilities and the strength of his tower, there would be no guarantee that using force would be successful. But luckily it doesn't come to that. The door opens and Vincent emerges. Fred is glad that there is no sign of any of his toaster-headed gorilla assistants. As far as he is concerned, meeting one or more of them on two occasions has been two occasions too many. "Fred, what a pleasant surprise," Vincent says. "And Astra too. I'm afraid I don't know any of your friends. Perhaps you'll introduce me to them?" "I'm not actually the Astra that you think I am, if that doesn't sound too strange," Astra 9 says. Go Back
