| And with the coming of the morning comes some frightening findings.
Nine's logs are nowhere to be found . . . . in fact, the body is missing
it's side arm and a few other items. Whoever or whatever killed Nine, seemed
to have stripped the body. Fifteen mutters something about damn fool snakes,
and kicks the freezer unit that hold's Nine's body. Fifteen would make
it his sworn duty to see that this fool who had gone and gotten himself
killed . . . . would have his named stripped. Somewhere, in the neather
region that ghosts retreat to with the coming of the dawn a ghost of a
Lizard Man stirred uncomfortably.
All thoughts of revenge on the stupidly departed are put on hold when
. . . . .
"RED ALERT!" a mechanical voice screams in time with a klaxxon. "The
base is un......" The alarm and the device suddenly cut off and Fifteen
suddenly freezes in shock as it sees . . . . an Alliance soldier standing
in front of him.
"How....?" Fifteen begins to ask right as the grinning soldier ends
the confused lizard's life with a well placed plasma bolt.
"Oh oh, it's magic." the Golem sings. Then it reaches onto it's belt
and pulls out a small com unit. "Operation Foxtrot was a success. I repeat,
a success. Thank Smokey the Were-bear for that . . . . spell of invisability.
Ready with the explosives?"
A large explosion from a field thaat blue/green crystals had been forming
answers his question. One less batch of resources to the Enemy to use.
"And thank YOU, Lord Fred, for carrying around that translator!" the
golem says solemly to the air. "Without it, we'd never know that an Enemy
base was being set up here! Amazing that these folks never heard of easedroppers
being built into units, but from what your grizzly friend says, getting
two types of 'spells' into one device is nearly impossible."
The golems leave the area, in a sweepup operation. There was always
something out there to do.......
The former dragon, exhausted from his spell casting, smiles in rememberance
of how the meeting went. He was just glad that hey had believed him!
And he had learned a few things about this Earth Alliance........that
Malachi and Carradene would love to know.
