Tells his friends about himself.
"Alicia, you know about my . . . colorful past." Loam begins. "But I
know that Fred doesn't."
"You . . . were related to that peasant that died, weren't you." Fred
says quietely. "Now what you were saying makes sense."
"I eventually went to the kingdom of Gelda, when I was a teen, and .
. . .got involved with people I should not have." Loam continues.
"He was only involved slightly with them, Fred." Alicia says soothingly
at Fred's alarmed look. "He only believed in the ideals expressed by them,
not the means that they went to to bring democracy about."
"Hell, I wasn't even there when they took those oaths on the tennis
court!" Loam moans. "But, after the Terror was finally over . . . and the
last body of the counter revolutionary put to rest . . . . and when the
last leader put to death . . . ."
"Somebody remembered you at a meeting, and you became a hunted man."
Fred reasoned.
"Not for long." Loam says. "After a week of running, hiding, and doing
what was necessary . . . . to evade capture . . . . I was still captured.
I was tried, sentenced, and the sentence was carried out within a day.
I was put into a cave known for having a dragon in it. The entrance was
sealed. Hey, the dragon had a sweet deal, with unwanted people being sent
to it's lair . . . ."
"But you got sent here by Minestus . . . and changed into a werewolf."
Fred finishes up.
"Where things were more agreeable with me, considering." Loam says sadly.
"I'm not for violent overthrow of the aristocracy, but I do think . . .
. that things needed to be changed."
"Well, before we can do anything like that, lets get aboard." Alicia
says, catching a dangling rope from the ship.
