Fortunately, you find several jewels laying in high, dense grass. A few swipes of your sword clears them enough.
You enter Prudesville. It isn't so tight-ass that they haven't restricted commerce (yet) and the armorer gladly looks over your money.
He informs you that you don't quite have enough to buy a better set of equipment. But...if you take care of the Creepily Crely problem in his basement, he will let you upgrade for free.

  1. You enter the basement, ready to destroy the monster. You know it's sort of tough but you can take it.
  2. You go down a few steps. Then you come up and tell the armorer that if you're going to fight a monster for him, you want to borrow his best stuff.
  3. The monster, in defiance of all sixteen books written on him (the local acedemics were an obsessive lot) comes up to floor level.
