Mavra's Friends Arrive

Mavra wastes no time on introductions. "We have big trouble, guys," she says. "You probably know that our friend here has just arrived on the base and that Xorn befriended her. Well, somebody evidently didn't like that, and they must have worked very fast. Because Xorn's body is just through there." She points. "They either killed him first and then teleported the body in or else killed him by teleporting him. My guess is the latter, as his body shows no signs of violence."

After a moment's shocked silence, "They would have had to have help from someone in the police," one of the aliens observes.

"Sending his body here might just have been a gesture," the Bieberite says. "But it could be an attempt to frame this Earthwoman for his murder. They would say that his dead body could only be in this apartment if she" - he means you, obviously - "let him in and then killed him subsequently. They would argue that the possibility that the body was teleported in could be dismissed. So we need to get her off the base quickly, or at least well hidden, before the police come looking for her."

"How do we know that she didn't kill him?" the third alien asks, giving you a suspicious look.

"Why would I kill someone who I only met for the first time today and who was very helpful to me?" you ask.

1. You manage to convince them of your innocence.
2. Mavra seems to believe you, but you don't think that the others do.
3. Mavra reminds them that if Xorn had come in through the door there would be a record of it on the apartment's computer. That's a relief, as it seems that you don't need to worry about being framed after all.
