You briefly consider the possibility of escaping the same way that you
originally came in. But climbing down might well be more dangerous than
climbing up, which was scary enough. Also, though your male body was no
great shakes, it was certainly stronger than Annabelline's. Furthermore
Matilda has tidily put away your clothes in your wardrobe and dresser,
and locked both of them. You have no idea where she has put the keys, and
you don't fancy climbing down the tower clad only in your nightie and
slippers. Finally, there are the dire warnings that Annabelline gave you
before she left. Would the king really lock his own daughter in a
dungeon? You find it hard to believe, but it doesn't seem worthwhile
taking the risk. Annabelline said that she would be back in at most two
days. If she fails to return by then, then you can re-evaluate your
situation. So you decide that you had better go to sleep like a good
pribcess.
The bed is very comfortable, but you find it hard to go to sleep. So much has happened, that you can't stop thinking about your strange day.
