Trying to Fix Her Position

The Black Void - Episode 52

The navigation computer of her one-man shuttle had every starchart ever mapped in its databanks, and had been, until she had entered the wormhole, constantly updated.

Her home planet of Kilt'nik was not situated in the spiral galaxy known to the inhabitants of the planet below her as the Milky Way. Rather, it was one of the irregular dwarf galaxies that counted the Milky Way as a neighbour. In this instance it was the Large Magellanic Cloud. To reach C'hesta Rhyto, which basically meant "Sky Blanket", was always one of the Kilt'nik starfleet's main aims. It got its name from the way it appeared to cover the sky at night.

T'Kept had now fulfilled many a Kilt'niki space-farer's dream. It would be a while before she discovered this for herself. The great distances involved meant that even the extensive charts at her disposal could not help her fix her position.

  1. What she was about to find out, though, is that there was plenty of debris in orbit. A particularly large piece was heading in her direction.
  2. She decided to land and explore the planet below. Which was the best spot to land?
