"The Dreamers?" I ask, confused. "Who are they?"
"It was once said that in the before time, when Theras and Artazed and all
the great cities of the world were only collections of mud huts, there was
an order of people known as the Dreamers who saw the future through their
dreams. This was a rare talent, and Dreamers rose to become generals,
leaders, even kings."
"Dreamers who had had their gift for some time could perform feats beyond
anything a mage could. They could warp reality, change the fabric of
objects, even project their avatars into alternate planes of existence."
I thrill to this. Did the Dreamers create the void I went through? If they
did, I can go home. Am I a latent Dreamer? Did my time with the Order of
Baran activate my powers?
I ask...
