Sarah realised that she and Amergin were so covered in slime that Kipper hadn't recognised them. Perhaps he assumed that they must have escaped by now and that he had trapped two new people. It was either that, or he had an amazingly short memory.

"We fell in just a short time ago," she said, trying to disguise her voice. "Please will you help us out?"
