When you are what you hope is a safe distance away, you stop for a few minutes and try to come up with a plan. They will surely soon be looking for you. Where can you hide? You consider your assets: the clothes you are wearing (the hacked about dress and your knickers), your duplicate of Annabeline's gorgeous and reasonably fit - but not very strong - body, and the pike axe. Reluctantly, you decide that it would be best to jettison this last item. You aren't trained in its use and carrying it would tend to make people suspicious of you. So you dump it in the ditch that runs alongside the track that you are on.
