You decide that you regret this whole escape scenario, but there's the
whole problem of the murdered maid. You maliciously decide to play the
role of an innocent, victimized girl to take the blame off
yourself. "An assassin entered my room, killing the maid! I barely managed to escape!", you sit on the ground on your knees, in tears, "If it wasn't my father trying to kill me, then it must be someone in charge of my safety! How else could an assassin sneak in and out unnoticed? It must have been you!", you say, pointing to Enrique. "You are the captain in charge of my security!", you say, noting the special insignia that he wears, "Only you could have let someone like that it!" Enrique bears a heartbroken look of shock and disbelief as the other soldier and the mob manage to subdue him. You feel guilty about what will happen to him as a result of your lies, but, even though you're back in the castle again, at least you won't be pursued for your crimes. There is the problem of explaining why your dress is cut and you aren't wearing shoes. Fortunately, no one seemed to notice or question it in the madness.
